IAAF World Half Marathon Championships 2005 : Oct 1 2005 World Half Marathon Championships, Edmonton, AB Canada. Edmonton hosts yet another world event. The IAAF Half Marathon Championship brought the best atheletes in the world to compete for $140K U.S. in prize money. The weather in Edmonton had been unseasonably cool in the days before, but on race day, it was almost at freezing. A steady drizzle, which turned to rain, hampered the event, with only the most avid running enthusiasts willing to stand in the cold and wet to cheer these great atheletes on.
